The North Penn-Mansfield Lady Tigers faced off against the North Penn-Liberty Lady Mounties Monday February 3rd and Wednesday February 5th. The Monday night game was a combination of good offense from the Lady Tigers and sheer determination from the Lady Mounties. North Penn-Mansfield nearly doubled North Penn-Liberty's score in the first quarter 23-12. After their initial lead, the Lady Tigers continued to rack up the points and hold off the Lady Mounties. Every so often, lead shooter for the Lady Mounties, Eva Rice would break through the Lady Tigers' defense and score. The final score of Monday night was 56-30, the Lady Tigers never surrendered their lead. At the Wednesday night game, North Penn-Mansfield took total control of the court. The entirity of the first quarter the Lady Tigers prevented the Lady Mounties from scoring at all, gaining an immediate 25-0 lead. Lead shooter for the Lady Tigers was JoAnne McNamara who was able to As hard as the Lady Mounties pushed to break through the Lady Tigers' defense they just couldn't seem to make any shots in the final quarter. The Lady Tigers finished extremely strong with a final score of 62-7.
Friday January 31st, the North Penn-Mansfield Lady Tigers took on the Cowanesque Valley Lady Indians. Kicking things off for the Lady Tigers in the first quarter was Jamie Palmer with four points. This led to an advantage later on down the road as the first quarter score was 13-9, the Lady Tigers up by four points. They continued their powerful assault on the court as the second quarter progressed however the Lady Indians proved to be just as formidable a force during this quarter as the scores going into halftime were 24-29, the Lady Tigers up by five points. The third quarter was solid for the Lady Tigers. Good passes and plays led to a large gap in points between them and their opponents 44-30 on the scoreboard. The final quarter seemed to be a breeze for the Lady Tigers as they continued to rack up the points, matching the 14 they scored the quarter before all while keeping the Lady Indians at bay. The final score of the night ended up 58-36, Lady Tigers with another win under their season belt.
